Zlacka gorca Holiday House is located on a picturesque hill with a magnificent view over vineyards, meadows and orchards in the southeastern part of Slovenia. It is a perfect location for exploring Kozjansko and the Podcetrtek region.

We zigzagged along a narrow and steep road from one of the largest towns of this reggion Šmarje pri Jelšah to the holiday house Zlacka gorca while admiring the huge moon on one side and the magnificent sunset on the other.

We were welcomed by Janez and Ljubica who offered us a homemade pear schnapps and invited us to their wine temple where we sampled 3 wines (Rhenish Riesling, yellow Muscat, Sauvignon). The children could not resist trying the homemade juice.

The holiday house Zlacka gorca fulfils all expectations. The house is spacious and super clean. On the first floor there is a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom with shower, toilet, washing machine and dryer, a nicely equipped kitchen (induction stove, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment (there is no dishwasher though, but four plates and tea cups were not such a big challenge) connected to a living room (a sofa can be converted into a bed for 2 people, flat screen TV). A special bonus was a wood stove in the living room that heats the whole house and provides a romantic atmosphere later in the evening. There is a toilet near the dining room as well. A steep wooden staircase leads to a windowless attic bedroom with two single beds and a double bed. The wooden furniture made from crates gives the accommodation a special homely touch.

Unfortunately, the tickets for the Olimje Family Fun Wellness were sold out for the entire weekend we spent in the Podcetrtek region, but we did manage to climb the 40-metre-high Stolp zdravja in veselja tower (from the viewing platform you can admire the picturesque landscape, the tower wobbles at the top so it is not suitable for people with a fear of heights), visited the recently renovated Podcetrtek castle, indulged our taste buds at the Krpan restaurant and took part in the annual Pozdrav mlademu vinu (Greeting to the young wine).

The Zlacka gorca Holiday House is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings with family or friends.
