The Vilana holiday home is located at the top of the hill in the village of Vaneča in the Goricko natural park in the Pomurje region in eastern Slovenia.

We were greeted by Katja, who picked us up at the Expano parking lot and showed us the way to the Vilana holiday home (unfortunately, the Google GPS coordinates did not lead us to the right place!) When we arrived in the village of Vaneča, we were overwhelmed by a magical sunset.

The Vilana holiday home, which can accommodate up to 5 people, consists of a ground floor with a spacious living room (with large flat screen TV, cosy sofa and retro-style radio) combined with a well-equipped kitchen (induction stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kitchen utensils). We were welcomed with Radgonska penina sparkling wine and Prekmurska gibanica dessert. From the kitchen there is an exit to the balcony with comfortable loungers and chairs (in the evening we admired the stars and the moon from here with a telescope). A small bathroom with shower and toilet is just around the corner. A wooden staircase leads upstairs to a transitional room with a sofa bed and a single bed, which is connected to a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. In front of the house there is an outdoor jacuzzi with a beautiful, sun-drenched landscape of the Pomurje region, while behind the house there is a large lawn with apple and pear trees and a barbecue area.

The Vilana holiday home is certainly one of the best starting points for exploring the Goricko natural park in the Pomurje region. We enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning in Murska Sobota, where the kids went crazy on the swing in the park, while on Sunday we decided to explore Maribor a bit (hike to Kalvarija, admire the city center, walk along the Drava river) before heading home.
