Garden Village Bled Experience

Boutique tourist resort Garden Village Bled is a little oasis located in the former Villa Bled gardens just a half kilometer from the shore of Lake Bled. This eco-friendly and sustainable complex based between trees, a pond and a brook, will definitely take your breath away. Surrounded by green forest, the entire place is a magical maze through nature. It is a paradise not only for adults but for kids as well.

We were welcomed by cheerful receptionist Nastja who helped us with our luggage and provided all information about the place. You can see from the very first moment that the staff are one with Garden Village Bled. So dedicated and helpful.
At Garden Village eco-resort is all about glamping atmosphere. The environmentally friendly resort, where privacy is a high priority, presents glamping (glamorous camping) in a new way that is closely connected to breathtaking nature. 4 elements (water, soil, fire, air) are in cooperating into the concept of Garden Village. Every piece of land is packed with organically grown food (fruit, vegetables, herbs and shrubs). A small stream of water is cris crossing eco friendly resort. Perfect getaway for nature lovers.

At Garden Village Bled, there are four types of dream-like accommodation options eco-conscious guests can choose from: deluxe apartments with Jacuzzi, wooden tree houses set up in treetops, pier tents set above the stream Jezernica and bigger luxurious glamping tents. Besides accommodation options the resort hosts a natural pool, common lounge open-air room with open fireplace, playground for children, wellness services with a bird-nest-shaped Finnish sauna, eco shop with unique local products and on-site restaurant.
A hand written sign »Dobrodošli. Welcome to Garden Village Bled« at the entrance of our luxury glamping tent #6 welcomed us.

The tent is huge providing air-conditioning, heating, wooden floor, dinning table, mini fridge, wardrobes for storage, a specious bathroom and an outdoor shower with a glass roof which offers a fantastic view on the night sky ful of stars, 2 sleeping areas with queen size beds and very comfortable pillows (perfect option if your kid doesn’t like to sleep in the child cot and prefers occupying your bed ;)), comfy sofa, TV and other luxuries.
A special attention was paid to details. A sign »One apple a day, keeps a doctor away.« and a plate with 4 red health apples was very thoughtful so as an empty bottle which a guest can refill with a tap water.

In front of the luxury tent there is a yard with a small deck and chairs, a hot bathtub and flourishing garden with edible fruits and plants. I spotted no less than 30 different varieties of fruit and vegetable plants that all grow beside each other. Lucija adores redcurrant and we spent hours and hours picking and eating fresh food from the plants each day. »Mummy more, more.« while she put the fist full of juicy redcurrant into her mouth.

Besides tasting mouth-watering organic fruits directly from the garden, Lucija enjoyed playing in the »living« pool while I refresh myself in the pool which has a pleasant temperature. Chlorine free pool is surrounded by plants that are filtering the water naturally. Numerous tadpoles were swimming at the shore of the pool and kids were trying to get them into their hands. A pebble beach with 2 lampshades, 6 sun chairs and a perfect size stones was a morning and an afternoon playground for kids coming from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Australia, Germany and Czech Republic.
We skipped all must-see Bled attractions and we were wandering around the resort and watching food grow. Our favorite walk was in the area where pier tents are based. We followed the small stream that is passing by pier tents lying over the small brook. At the ponds we spotted massive trouts swimming in cold but crystal clear water. Pebble beach is a perfect spot for listening to a small murmuring waterfall, leaves rustling, reading a book and watching horses grass grazing.
A huge greenhouse fascinated me because the door was opened so we could freely walking around and admiring healthy veggies (salad, tomatoes, onions).

After the sun goes down, the pebble beach calms down and the natural pool welcomes a pair of ducks. A gentle music at the background, candles and birds singing is a perfect ending of the day. The resort’s restaurant Vrtnarija which looks like a green house, where you feel the one with nature, was quite busy on a Friday evening. What blows your breath away, are a stream that is running through the dining room and tables topped with real, live grass or fresh herbs. No table cloth needed and no extra washing!

We treated our taste buds with locally sourced trout fillet, slow-roasted pork ribs and a bowl of salad. Food was very fresh and tasty. The concept ‘from the garden to the plate’ works perfectly here.
We took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a night under the stars with a sound of water, sitting in a wood-heated tub with a glass of Motnik wine … after Lucija felt asleep. She slept the whole night like a baby.

Gentle fresh breeze and a touch of sun rays which were slowly entering our tent woke us up. Before hitting the road to the breakfast area, Lucija was amazed by murmuring stream passing by luxury tents and offering a drinking option to bees and other flies.

Nutritionful self-service breakfast is served in the restaurant Vrtnarija, one of Slovenia’s most innovative restaurants with a brook running through it and with tables covered with grass or fresh herbs. Locally produced salami, cheese and other dairy products, 4 types of honey, 4 yummy jams, freshly baked breads and pastries (even potica!), cereals, eggs, fruits, freshly squeezed juices and plenty of items from Garden Village’s own garden. Breakfast is delicious, very healthy and rich in nutrition and provides a great start for a day.
Garden Village Bled is a contemporary version of a green family camping getaway where nature, relaxation, flourishing gardens, camping and glamour are perfect match. It is glamping experience at its best in lush green gardens.
