Real forest experience
Within a radius of my sight there are trees, green pastures, high mountains and mysterious ravines. The landscape around Cerkno region is very diverse. I put some forest perfume/insect repellent on and start walking with fellow nature lovers. My ears become more aware of birds songs, rustling tree leaves and murmuring streams. In the embrace of nature I begin relaxing. The trees, the heart of the forest, are welcoming me. Each tree has its own healing energy. Do you know that a beech, very common tree in the Cerkno forest, is the patron of writers? Once the trees were considered to be magical creatures while today we completely lost the contact with them. If you cut down one tree, you need to plant one. Keep that in mind. I am using all of my senses while touching, looking at, smelling and listening to the silver fir. I feel so connected, relaxed and peaceful with this tree. After forest walking the horizon extends into the green pastures. In the middle of the meadow hay bales with yummy local delicacies are waiting for us (crackling and onion potica, buckwheat bread with nuts, cheeses, dried fruit). All the delights are deriving from nearby small scale family farms. The untouched forest is welcoming us again.
Experiencing barefoot walking on pine needles, massaging my tired feet using red clay, relaxing my feet in hay gravel and herbs foot baths and listening to the sounds of stream rapids while swinging in the hammock, were unforgettable treat for me, myself and my soul. Pure forest all-inclusive. Moreover, under the shade of beeches, I completely relaxed my body and soul while breathing deeply forest fresh healing air, listening to rain, birds and rustling of winds. Passionate culinary guru prepared delighted lunch. A real magical and unique experience for all of my senses in the forest. Experience forest selfness, a new green trend setter in Slovenian tourism and deepen yourself into a genuine relationship with nature. It is a real and unforgettable forest therapy.
