Juliana trail from Stara Fužina to Bohinjska Bistrica stage 7
I parked my car at the free parking place in Bohinjska Bistrica and took a bus to Stara Fužina. What a lovely little pearl below Triglav Mountain that was just waking up! There were some locals gardening while the others were saying goodbye to the guests.
A widen path was leading to the shore of Bohinj lake. People of all ages were walking, paddling and running, while just few of them were relaxing and chilling by the lake. It was so peaceful.
Well-marked path was leading the way along the lake and through the forest to the church of Saint John the Baptist. It is one of the most photographed churches in Slovenia. Close to the church on the other side of the bridge you will find a monument dedicated to four brave men of Bohinj who were the first climbers on Triglav mountain.
Once you pass by Ribčev laz, you reach the forest and the true easy walk begins. Wild blackberries, hazelnuts, and even porcini mushroom were waiting for me. 93-year-old Hanssen ski jump turned into zip-line adventure. Macadam road was passing by Dobrava, cultural landscape before reaching Bohinjska Bistrica.
