Herbal rooms was such a great experience for me, especially going to the mountains with Vesna and her mother, a basket in hand, to identify and pick herbs, and most of all to learn about it from 2 generations of locals. Later, Vesna’s mother who does not speak English at all, and I, who doesn’t speak a word of Slovenian, managed to spend 2 hours by ourselves making herbal sachets, with so much laughter with jokes not expressed in any language. I was in tears by the time I got called to leave after 5 days with the lovely family. It’s one of the topmost unusual travel journey I’ve undertaken, which has touched me to my deepest core.
