Juliana trail from Begunje na Gorenjskem to Bled stage 4
I parked my car at the free parking place in Begunje na Gorenjskem and started walking from the cradle of Slovenian national folk music, across meadows and fields through idyllic villages to the old town center of Radovljica. The path is very well signed and flat. While walking through the meadows and passing by endless corn fields with the chapels just on the corner of the roads, I was listening to the sound of bees buzzing. Yes, even though it is September bees are still collecting the nectar, mainly from the buckwheat flowers and ivy.
Picturesque Radovljica medieval town was very quiet, the streets almost empty. There were some people enjoying morning coffee.
The road from Radovljica goes down to the Sava river. Just before the bridge Juliana Trail meets the River Sava Trail. It is a pleasant walking trail where you can discover the banks of Sava river, its fish and rich diversity before you reach Šobec camp and wetlands and continues to Bled.
